Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) can feel exhausting and confusing. Many people with OCD experience intrusive thoughts, constant doubt, and an overwhelming urge to perform certain behaviors or mental rituals to feel safe or certain.
OCD is often misunderstood. It is not simply about liking things neat or organized. OCD involves intrusive thoughts or images that feel distressing and lead to compulsive behaviors meant to reduce anxiety or gain certainty.
Common OCD experiences include:
• intrusive thoughts that feel disturbing or unwanted
• fear of making a mistake or causing harm
• excessive checking or reassurance seeking
• mental reviewing or overanalyzing situations
• feeling that things must be “just right”
• difficulty tolerating uncertainty
• repeating behaviors or mental rituals
These thoughts can feel very real and convincing, even when a person logically knows they may not make sense.

I specialize in evidence-based treatment for OCD, including Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Inference-Based CBT focuses on the reasoning process that leads to obsessive doubt. OCD often begins with a “what if” possibility that pulls a person away from their direct experience and into imagined scenarios. In therapy, we work together to identify these patterns and strengthen your ability to trust your senses and reconnect with reality rather than the OCD story.
Treatment may include:
• understanding how OCD creates doubt
• recognizing when thoughts are driven by OCD reasoning
• learning how to respond differently to intrusive thoughts
• reducing compulsive behaviors and mental rituals
• building confidence in your own perceptions and decisions
The goal of therapy is not to eliminate all intrusive thoughts, but to help them lose their power so they no longer control your life.
